I would love to tell you how I came into this business of offering AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. I was first introduced to this exquisite little breed in 2010. I had never heard of them before I saw a little cavachon rescue puppy. For some reason I didn’t understand at the time, I was drawn to him. That’s when I did my first research on them. About a month or two later, I received an e-mail from Mindy, a business woman here in my hometown of Grinnell, Iowa, that has a full service Christian retail store, (www.steppingstonesbookstores.com). In it she mentioned that she had a litter of Cavaliers that were 5 weeks old. (I thought, there they are again, what is it about Cavaliers). It soon became evident to me that it is God’s plan for me to raise them. With God as my guide, I got my first two (Anna and Sadie) from her. He then continued in helping me get the rest of my dogs that got me started. He has been with me from the start of this wonderful journey, and I know He will continue. From the dogs I have, to getting the puppies into their homes, He has a plan for each and every one of them!
He even had a hand in helping me choose a name for my business. A while before I started this adventure, my sister was talking about a book that she had read that told about how God has nicknames for us and if we ask Him, He will tell us what it is. Well, I did just that! One day while at work, out of the clear blue, the song “You are my Sunshine of my Life” went through my head, and I just knew immediately that His nickname for me is Sunshine. It makes so much sense to me because He knows how much I love it! So when it came time to come up with a name for my business, Sunshine Cavaliers just seemed like the obvious choice!
When I look back at what all He has done and continues to do, it still amazes me how everything falls into place with His guiding hand over it! I know with God’s help and guidance, I can accomplish what He puts in front of me! I am committed to doing what I have to do, to do this right.
I have a variety in all 4 colors. If I have some longer than the 12 weeks, that’s OK, because I know in my heart, that they will go where and when they are supposed to. With that being said, a portion of each sale will be going to my church or other Christian organization.
